The JMU Wind Symphony opens their season with a concert of band music performed by some of the most talented young musicians in the School of Music. The Wind Symphony is nationally acclaimed as one of the finest college bands in the country. You won’t want to miss the first concert of the year under the baton of conductor, Dr. Steven Bolstad.

JMU’s Opera Theater presents Cosi Fan Tutte, a romantic opera buffa by W. A. Mozart with soaring arias and comedic situations abounding. The libretto was written by Lorenzo da Ponte and borrowed the theme of fiancée swapping from Boccaccio's Decameron and Shakespeare's Cymbaline.

The renowned JMU Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Band are highlighted in this concert of big band jazz. Repertoire includes all major styles of big band jazz from the 1920s to the 1990s. The JMU Jazz Ensemble has a long tradition of excellence, and has performed at the Montreux, North Sea, and East Coast Jazz Festivals, VMEA convention, and at the Kennedy Center.
